Frequently Asked Questions

Manual Sealer

What is the function of the Manual Sealer?

The Manual Sealer was developed to perform hermetic sealing of plastic packaging in a simple, fast, and efficient way, contributing to the preservation and presentation of the packaged products.

What does a hermetic seal mean?

It is a complete seal of the packaging, preventing the entry or exit of air, moisture, and other contaminants, helping to preserve the quality of the packaged product.

How do I perform the first use of the machine?

Before turning on the machine:

  • Check if the voltage is correctly set (110 V or 220 V).
  • Connect the equipment to the power grid.
  • Turn on the main switch.
  • Initially set the temperature to approximately 125 °C.
  • Wait until the temperature stabilizes before starting operation.

Is the ideal temperature always 125 °C?

No. 125 °C serves only as a starting point. The ideal temperature may vary depending on the material, thickness, and type of packaging used.

Does the machine automatically control the temperature?

Yes. After setting the desired temperature, the electronic controller automatically maintains heating within the programmed value during operation.

Does the machine come with a warranty?

Yes. To keep the warranty valid, it is necessary to perform the initial startup correctly, follow all manual instructions, and preserve the warranty seals.

Can I remove the warranty seals?

No. The seals can only be removed with authorization from Finamac's technical team. Tampering with the seals will void the warranty.

How do I select the correct voltage for the machine?

Voltage selection is made via the dual-voltage switch located on the back of the sealer.

⚠️ Before turning on the equipment, confirm that the switch is set according to the voltage available in the electrical installation (110 V or 220 V).

What temperature should I use to start operation?

As an initial setup, it is recommended to adjust the temperature to 125 °C. Depending on the type and thickness of the packaging used, it may be necessary to increase or decrease this value until a perfect seal is achieved.

How do I know the machine is ready for use?

After adjusting the temperature, the controller automatically heats the element. Once the set temperature is reached, the equipment will be ready to start sealing operations.

How to perform sealing correctly?

Position the opening of the packaging between the sealer jaws and fully press the pedal. After pressing, release the pedal and check if the packaging is completely sealed. If the seal is not satisfactory, adjust the temperature as needed.

How do I know if the temperature is correct?

A correct seal should feature:

  • uniform closure;
  • complete seal;
  • clean appearance;
  • absence of gaps or leaks.

If the packaging does not seal properly, increase the temperature. If there is excessive heating or deformation of the packaging, reduce the temperature.

How do I change the dater types?

Before starting the replacement:

  • Turn off the sealer.
  • Wait for the equipment to cool down completely.
  • Use the Allen key supplied with the dater kit to loosen the lower jaw screw.
  • Remove the old types using a small screwdriver.
  • Install the new types and tighten the screw again, ensuring all are correctly positioned.

Can I change the dater types while the machine is heated?

No. The replacement must only be carried out with the machine switched off and completely cold to avoid burns and damage to sealer components.

How do I change the date printed on the packaging?

Simply replace the brass types installed in the dater with the desired combination of numbers and characters. After assembly, check that all types are correctly seated before tightening the assembly again.

Can the dater types be assembled in any sequence?

Yes. The types can be organized according to the required identification to be stamped on the packaging, such as manufacturing date, expiration date, or product lot.

What happens if the types are not properly positioned?

When the types are not properly seated, the stamping may come out crooked, incomplete, or with poor quality. Always check the alignment before retightening the assembly.

Do I need to clean the dater assembly?

Yes. The slot where the types are installed must always remain clean to ensure proper character fit and uniform printing on the packaging.

How does date stamping on the packaging work?

Stamping occurs through the pressure of the heated types against a silicone pad installed on the upper jaw of the sealer. This process allows the information to be marked directly on the packaging during sealing.

Does the silicone pad need to be replaced?

Yes. With continuous use, the pad may undergo natural wear and tear. When stamping loses quality or shows flaws, replacing the silicone pad is recommended to maintain print sharpness.

How should I clean the Manual Sealer?

Always keep sealing surfaces clean. Frequent cleaning prevents residue buildup and helps preserve packaging seal quality.

What products should I use to clean stainless steel parts?

It is recommended to use neutral detergent and rinse with plenty of water, taking due care not to hit the equipment's electrical components.

Which products should not be used for cleaning?

Avoid using products that can attack stainless steel, such as:

  • Muriatic acid (hydrochloric acid);
  • Hydrofluoric acid;
  • Sulfuric acid;
  • Chlorinated products, such as bleach;
  • Abrasive pads;
  • Steel wool for cleaning stainless steel surfaces.

These materials can cause corrosion, scratches, and reduce the equipment's service life.

Can the Manual Sealer be used by anyone?

Operation should only be performed by qualified individuals or those properly trained on equipment operation. Children and individuals without technical knowledge should only use the machine under supervision of a responsible adult.

Troubleshooting

Before calling technical support, please refer to the guidelines below. Many occurrences can be resolved quickly through simple checks, reducing machine downtime and avoiding unnecessary service visits.

In this section, you will find the most common issues, their possible causes, and recommended actions for each situation. Follow the instructions in the order presented and, if the problem persists, contact Finamac Technical Support.

IMPORTANT: Always disconnect the machine from the electrical grid before performing any inspection or procedure involving opening protective covers or accessing internal components. If the recommended solution requires technical knowledge or intervention on the equipment, seek a qualified technician or contact Finamac.

What precautions should I take before performing any maintenance?

Before any cleaning, inspection, parts replacement, or maintenance procedure, turn off the machine and disconnect it from the electrical outlet. This measure reduces the risk of accidents and protects both the operator and the equipment.

My Manual Sealer won't turn on. What should I check first?

Before requesting technical assistance, check the following items:

  • If there is power at the outlet;
  • If the machine voltage is correctly selected (110 V or 220 V);
  • If the power cord is properly connected;
  • If the plug shows any damage;
  • If the fuse is in good condition;
  • If circuit breakers are switched on.

The packaging is not sealing correctly. What could be happening?

In most cases, the temperature is below ideal for the type of packaging used. Gradually increase the temperature until a uniform and completely hermetic seal is achieved.

The dater is not printing correctly. How to fix it?

Check if the brass types are clean. Residue accumulation can prevent clear and uniform stamping on packaging. Clean the types before continuing operation.

What replacement parts are available for the Manual Sealer?

The main replacement parts are:

  • Electronic controller;
  • Heating elements;
  • Brass types for single-date printing;
  • Brass types for two-date printing.

How to request replacement parts?

When contacting technical support or the sales department, always have on hand:
