What is the Pack 5000?
The Pack 5000 is an automatic wrapping machine developed to package popsicles with high speed, precision, and repeatability. Its automated system reduces the need for operator intervention, increases production line productivity, and provides packaging with an excellent finish standard.

⚠️ Important: The forming collar and the film roll width vary according to the type and dimensions of the material to be packaged. Before starting production of a new product, check if the machine is equipped with a compatible forming collar and roll to ensure proper equipment operation and packaging quality. Contact technical support if you do not know which roll or forming collar should be used.
What are production modes?
The controller has up to nine independent production modes (T1 to T9), allowing you to store different configurations for speed, package length, production counter, and other parameters. This makes it easy to switch between products without the need for new adjustments at each production cycle.
- T1 to T5: Self-calibrated modes, designed for use with film rolls that have a registration mark (photocell).
- T6 to T9: Manually calibrated modes, used when the process does not depend on the automatic reading of a photocell.
What is the advantage of production modes?
Each mode works as a pre-configured recipe. This way, you can quickly switch between different packages or products, reducing machine setup time and increasing line productivity.
How to correctly unpack the Pack 5000?
The recommended procedure is:
- Remove the screws from the top cover of the crate.
- Remove the cover.
- Remove the side panels.
- Cut the straps securing the equipment to the base.
- Carefully lift the machine.
Can the crate be discarded?
No. The crate must be stored in a dry, ventilated place during the entire warranty period, as it may be necessary for future handling or transport of the equipment. Discarding it may void the warranty.
Where is the rating plate located and what is it for?
The rating plate is installed on the rear of the machine and gathers all the technical information necessary to identify the equipment.
The plate provides, among other data:
- Model;
- Equipment line;
- Serial number;
- Date of manufacture;
- Power;
- Electrical voltage;
- Frequency;
- Nominal current;
- Machine weight;
- Condensation type (when applicable).
This information must always be provided whenever requesting technical support, purchasing parts, or activating the warranty.
Which circuit breaker is recommended?
It is recommended to use a 20 A bipolar circuit breaker, Curve C, installed in a dedicated circuit for the machine.
What is the recommended wire gauge for the electrical installation?
The recommendations are:
- Power wiring: 2.5 mm²
- Grounding conductor: 2.5 mm²
The maximum recommended distance is 15 meters. If a greater distance is required, the cable gauge must be recalculated by a qualified professional.
Who should perform the electrical installation?
The electrical installation must be performed by a qualified professional, adhering to applicable technical standards and equipment specifications. Grounding must be executed according to ABNT NBR 5410 (in Brazil) or according to the technical standards in force in the country where the equipment will be installed. Line voltage should not fluctuate more than ±5% of the nominal value. For a 220 V grid, the recommended range is 209 V to 231 V. If larger fluctuations occur, it is recommended to request a correction from the local energy provider.
Does the machine come with a plug?
Yes. The Pack 5000 is supplied with a 20 A plug. The installation must use an outlet and plug compatible with this capacity.
Must the first startup be performed by an authorized technician?
Yes. The first startup must be requested from Finamac and will be performed by a factory technician or an authorized technician. During the procedure, the customer will receive training on equipment operation and main operational adjustments, in addition to filling out the startup report required for warranty validation.
⚠️ Important: Travel, lodging, and other expenses related to the technical visit must be aligned with Finamac before the equipment arrives at the installation site.
What is the function of the Pack 5000 control panel?
The control panel concentrates all commands required to operate the machine, allowing you to turn the equipment on and off, control heating element temperatures, configure production parameters, and start or stop the packaging process.
The panel consists of the following elements:
- Sealing activation switch;
- Machine power switch;
- Longitudinal sealing area temperature controller (fin);
- Transverse sealing jaw temperature controller (end);
- Programmable Logic Controller (PLC);
- Emergency stop button;
- Emergency alarm.
What is the function of the longitudinal sealing area temperature controller (fin)?
In the Pack 5000, the longitudinal sealing area (fin) is the assembly that shapes (folds) the plastic film before sealing, forming the packaging "tube" around the popsicle. The temperature controller keeps the forming assembly at the appropriate temperature to facilitate the passage and shaping of the plastic film around the product. Correct temperature control contributes to proper package formation before the final sealing step performed by the transverse sealing jaws.
What is the function of the transverse sealing jaw temperature controller (end)?
The controller maintains the ideal temperature of the transverse sealing jaws responsible for sealing the package, contributing to a uniform, strong seal with an excellent finish.
When should the emergency button be used?
The emergency button should only be used in dangerous situations, such as:
- Possibility of the product being cut by the sealing jaws;
- Mechanical jam;
- Risk of accidents;
- Any situation requiring immediate stoppage of the machine.
Can I use the emergency button to stop production normally?
No. For normal production stops, use the Start/Stop command available on the controller. The emergency button must remain strictly reserved for critical situations.
Can I use a different mode for each product?
Yes. Each mode can store its own speed, package length, and other parameter settings, making it easy to switch between different products.
Can I change a mode that has already been configured?
Yes. Parameters can be modified whenever necessary and, after adjustments, must be saved to remain stored in the controller's memory.
Why is it important to follow the correct film path?
The correct film path ensures:
- Proper package formation;
- Correct photocell reading (when used);
- Uniform sealing;
- Reduction of waste;
- Greater stability during production.
What is the forming collar and what is it for?

The forming collar is the component responsible for shaping the plastic film around the product before the sealing step, defining the package shape. The forming collar must be replaced when changing to a product or package requiring different dimensions than those previously used. After installing a new forming collar, it is recommended to check film alignment, roll centering, and package length before restarting production. Using an incompatible forming collar can compromise package formation, generate film wrinkles, and reduce seal quality.
What is the function of the "Grava" (Save) key?
The "Grava" key saves settings made by the operator, ensuring that new parameters remain stored in the controller's memory.
What is the function of the "Calibra" (Calibrate) key?
This key provides access to machine calibration functions and adjustment of various operating parameters according to production needs. The controller allows calibrating:
- Production speed;
- Production counter;
- Production mode;
- Package length;
- Photocell position.
What is the function of the "Ajusta" (Adjust) key?
The "Ajusta" key allows navigation through configuration menus and access to parameters available in the controller. Speed can be configured directly on the controller, allowing production to adapt to the characteristics of the product and film used. The operator can electronically adjust the package length to accommodate different product and film sizes.
What is the function of the PLC?
The Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) is responsible for the electronic management of the machine, allowing configuration and control of all parameters related to the packaging process.

Who can perform maintenance on the machine?
Only trained operators and qualified professionals should perform adjustments, installation, and maintenance on the Pack 5000. Since the Pack 5000 uses a frequency inverter and other electronic components, any intervention on the electrical panel must be performed exclusively by qualified professionals.
Why is calibration important?
Correct calibration improves:
- Package length accuracy;
- Synchronization between product and film;

How to start production?
After selecting the production mode and checking all parameters:
- Load the film roll correctly;
- Confirm temperatures for the longitudinal sealing area (fin) and transverse sealing jaws (end);
- Position the product;
- Press Iniciar Produção (Start Production);
- Monitor the first cycles to verify if the package is forming correctly.
Is it necessary to monitor the first cycles?
Yes. During the first cycles, it is recommended to check:
- Film alignment;
- Sealing quality;
- Product positioning;

- Photocell synchronization (when used).
These checks help prevent waste and ensure production starts with correctly adjusted parameters.
How to properly install the film roll?
The roll must be installed on the machine holder so that the film smoothly follows the entire path to the longitudinal sealing area. Before starting production, confirm that the film is aligned, tensioned, and passing through all indicated rollers and guides to prevent deviations or failures in package formation. Whenever a new roll is installed, check film alignment and proper sealing temperature before starting production to ensure the package forms correctly.
What is the function of the Pack 5000 heating elements?
Heating elements warm the assemblies responsible for shaping and sealing the package, ensuring the film is properly formed and sealed during the packaging process. Temperatures for the longitudinal sealing area and transverse sealing jaws can be configured via controllers installed on the machine panel, allowing adaptation of the process to the type of film used.
Inadequate temperatures can cause:
- Weak seal;
- Film overheating;
- Package deformation;
- Difficulty opening the package;
- Material waste.
What is the function of the photocell?
The photocell is responsible for identifying the registration mark printed on the packaging film and automatically synchronizing film advance with the machine's operation cycle. This ensures the product is packaged in the correct position, guaranteeing precise cuts and seals, maintaining visual standards and packaging quality. Modes T1 to T5 were developed to work with film rolls that have a photocell mark. Modes T6 to T9 use manual calibration and do not rely on automatic reading of the registration mark.
⚠️ Important: For the photocell to function properly, the packaging film must have a registration mark with good contrast and proper positioning. Films without a registration mark or with inadequate printing can compromise packaging accuracy.
When should I adjust the photocell?
Whenever there is a:
- Roll change;
- Film change;
- Difficulty reading the registration mark;
- Package misalignment.
What symptoms indicate problems in photocell adjustment?
Some common signs are:
- Cuts out of position;
- Misaligned printing;
- Packages with different lengths;
- Loss of synchronization between product and package.
When should I adjust product positioning?
Whenever there is a change in popsicle dimensions or packaging setup. Correct adjustment ensures the product remains centered during the packaging process.
Incorrect positioning can cause:
- Misaligned package;
- Product cut by sealing jaws;
- Sealing failures;
- Increased waste.
What is the function of the roll brake?
The brake controls the tension applied to the film during roll unwinding, providing smooth and stable feeding throughout production.
When the brake is improperly adjusted, the following may occur:

- Variations in package length.
After installing a new roll, it is recommended to check brake adjustment to ensure the film is fed with appropriate tension throughout production.
How often should the Pack 5000 be cleaned?
Cleaning should be performed daily, at the end of production, or whenever debris accumulates on the equipment. Frequent sanitization preserves machine performance, extends component lifespan, and contributes to packaging quality. Before any cleaning, inspection, or maintenance procedure:
- Turn off the machine;
- Disconnect it from the power source;
- Wait for heated parts to cool, such as the longitudinal sealing area and transverse sealing jaws.
Can I clean the machine with water jets?
No. Electrical and electronic components of the Pack 5000 can be damaged by water ingress. Cleaning must be performed using soft cloths and products compatible with industrial equipment intended for food processing.
Which parts should receive greater attention during cleaning?
It is recommended to clean regularly:
- Longitudinal sealing area (fin);
- Transverse sealing jaws (end);
- Rollers;
- Film guides;
- Feed conveyor;
- External cabinet;
- Operation panel.
Removing residue prevents malfunction and improves packaging quality.
Can I use abrasive products?
No. Avoid using abrasive products, steel brushes, or materials that could damage machine surfaces. Use only products compatible with stainless steel and industrial components.
What should I do before turning off the machine at the end of the shift?
Before turning off the equipment, check that the ink roller does not remain pressed against the brass characters (clichés). During cooling, the ink roller material hardens and can undergo deformation if it remains in contact with the characters.

The machine does not turn on. What should I check?
Check the following items:
- If the circuit breaker is ON;
- If the power cord is in good condition;

The machine presents vibration or abnormal behavior. What should I check?
Check if the equipment is resting on a flat, stable surface. Then, check if the film is passing correctly through the guides and if the jaws and heating elements are clean and free of debris. If the abnormal behavior persists, contact Finamac After-Sales.
