Frequently Asked Questions

Mixer 15

GENERAL INFORMATION

What is the Mixer 15?

The Mixer 15 is an emulsifier designed to prepare ice cream and popsicle mixes, providing better air incorporation, increased volume, improved consistency, and better distribution of ingredients in the mix.

What is the main function of the Mixer 15?

Its primary function is to emulsify liquid mixtures for ice cream and popsicles, facilitating air incorporation and promoting greater mix homogenization.

What does emulsify mean?

Emulsifying is the process of combining ingredients that do not naturally mix, such as water and fat. In ice cream manufacturing, this makes the mixture more homogeneous and stable, promoting air incorporation and retention during freezing. As a result, you get a creamier, lighter ice cream with uniform texture, better yield, and greater melting stability.

Does the Mixer 15 replace an industrial blender?

No. The Mixer 15 was designed exclusively to emulsify mixtures. It does not replace an industrial blender and should not be used to crush solid ingredients.

Can I crush ice?

No. Never use the Mixer 15 to crush ice or any other solid product.

Can I process frozen ice cream mix?

No. The Mixer 15 was not designed to work with frozen mixtures or solid products. Its use must be restricted to emulsifying liquids.

What products can be prepared?

The equipment is suitable for emulsifying liquid mixes and mixtures used in the manufacturing of ice cream, popsicles, and other edible frozen desserts.

What is the capacity of the Mixer 15?

The maximum capacity is 8 liters per batch.

What is the electrical voltage of the Mixer 15?

The equipment operates on a voltage of 220 V, with a frequency of 50 or 60 Hz. When powered at 50 Hz, the equipment remains operational, but its rotation speed is reduced, which may result in a slight decrease in production capacity compared to 60 Hz operation.

What is the weight of the Mixer 15?

The equipment has:
• Net weight: 19.5 kg;
• Gross weight: 35 kg.

What is the recommended circuit breaker?

We recommend using a 10 A, Class C double-pole (two-pole) circuit breaker.

How do I identify the model and serial number?

This information is available on the identification plate located on the back of the machine.

Can I crush fruit in the Mixer 15?

No. The Mixer 15 was not developed to crush fruit, as its rotation speed is too high for this type of application. Instead of providing controlled crushing, high speed tends to excessively shred the fruit, compromising its texture and the quality of the final product. For this type of processing, we recommend using equipment specifically designed for crushing or depulping fruit.

Is it mandatory to read the manual before use?

Yes. Finamac recommends reading the entire manual before operation to avoid damage to the equipment and ensure proper usage.

Where can I request technical support?

In case of technical questions, need for assistance, or purchasing parts, contact Finamac's After-Sales department, providing the model and serial number of the equipment.

Who is authorized to operate the Mixer 15?

Operation of the equipment must be carried out only by properly trained personnel. Use by children or persons without proper training or supervision is not permitted.

INSTALLATION AND FIRST STARTUP

Who should perform the electrical installation of the Mixer 15?

Electrical installation must be executed by a qualified professional in accordance with current technical standards. It is the owner's responsibility to ensure that the installation is suitable for the equipment. Finamac does not perform nor take responsibility for the execution of electrical installation.

Does the Mixer 15 come with a circuit breaker and outlet?

No. The equipment is supplied with a standard 10 A power plug, but does not come with a circuit breaker or outlet. It is the customer's responsibility to supply and install these components in accordance with the specifications in this manual and current technical standards.

Can I remove the identification plate?

No. The identification plate contains essential information for technical support, warranty, financing, and equipment insurance. Therefore, it must not be removed or damaged.

What is the rated power of the equipment?

The rated power is 0.375 kW, equipped with a 0.5 HP motor at 1,800 RPM.

Is a dedicated electrical circuit required?

It is recommended. To avoid overloads and electrical grid fluctuations, the equipment should be connected to a suitable outlet and preferably powered by a dedicated circuit protected by a compatible circuit breaker.

What is the recommended wire gauge?

The recommended gauge for the power supply wiring is 1.5 mm².

What is the grounding wire gauge?

The grounding cable must have a gauge of 1.5 mm².

Is grounding mandatory?

Yes. In Brazil, grounding must follow standard ABNT NBR 5410. In other countries, local standards must be followed.

Can I connect the machine to any voltage?

No. Before connecting, confirm that the mains voltage corresponds to the voltage indicated on the equipment's identification plate.

What should I do if there are voltage fluctuations?

If voltage fluctuations exceeding 5% of the nominal voltage are observed, it is recommended to check the electrical installation and, if necessary, contact the energy provider.

Can I remove the machine panels?

No. Removing panels exposes electrical and mechanical parts and must only be performed by qualified personnel.

Is it necessary to keep the crate?

Yes. The crate is reusable and should be stored in a dry, ventilated area. It is recommended to keep it throughout the entire warranty period, as it may be needed for safe transport of the equipment in cases of maintenance or technical service.

OPERATION

How do I turn on the Mixer 15?

The equipment is turned on via the switch located on the rear right side of the head.

How does the Mixer 15 work?

The Mixer 15 uses a high-rotation propeller to emulsify and homogenize the mixture. This process promotes air incorporation, resulting in a creamier, more stable mixture with higher yield.

Does mix temperature affect Mixer 15 performance?

Yes. For milk-based mixtures, it is recommended that the temperature be close to 0 °C (32 °F), as this favors air incorporation and retention during the emulsification process.

Can I turn on the machine without the bucket?

No. Never turn on the motor with the bucket out of its operating position. Doing so can cause accidents and injuries to the operator.

Can I use the machine with a loose bucket?

No. The bucket must be properly secured before turning on the equipment.

How can I avoid splashing during emulsification?

Keep the propeller completely submerged in the mixture before turning the equipment on or off.

Can I use the Mixer 15 for any liquid?

It should be used to emulsify mixtures intended for ice cream and popsicle production. It is not recommended for solid or high-viscosity products.

CLEANING

Should cleaning be done daily?

Yes. Washing the equipment must be done daily, always with the equipment powered off.

How to clean the Mixer 15?

1. Remove all mixture from the bucket.
2. Fill the reservoir with water.
3. Turn on the motor for a few minutes.
4. Empty the reservoir.
5. Dry the bucket.

What to do in case of product buildup on the propeller?

Disconnect the equipment from the electrical power supply and wait for the propeller to come to a complete stop. Then, remove the propeller to perform cleaning.

What precautions should be taken during cleaning?

Before cleaning, disconnect the equipment from the power supply. Cleaning must be performed regularly to maintain hygienic conditions and contribute to the quality of the final product.

PREVENTIVE MAINTENANCE

Is preventive maintenance necessary?

Yes. Preventive maintenance increases equipment lifespan and reduces unexpected failures.

Should the propeller be inspected?

Yes. A weekly inspection is recommended to check agitation performance and, if necessary, adjust the angle of the propeller blades.

Can I use non-original parts?

No. Use only genuine Finamac parts to preserve performance, safety, and equipment warranty.
